Our Latest Family Trip - Bodega Bay

Beth was away at Disney World this past weekend running the Princess Half Marathon. By some stroke of luck, we actually had a free day with no activities/sports on Sunday, so I started looking for parts of California that we hadn't been to yet. We had been as far north as Point Reyes on previous trips, and knowing how the kids love hiking and the beach, I started searching a bit farther north.

Oscar reviewed the options with me and we decided on Bodega Bay. This area offers a marina, fishing, hiking, a beach and the most spectacular views I've ever seen in California. It turns out that it's also whale watching season, so there were tons of people looking for gray whales as they migrate back north.

Michael decided to stay with a friend for the day and go to basketball practice, so it was just me and the three younger kids. Oscar took on his role as hike leader, Henry tried to constantly scare us by walking to the edge, and Elizabeth worried constantly. At least they'r…
