Beth and her new boyfriend

Beth and the kids, well really just Beth, carved a pumpkin this afternoon. It's interesting that Beth carved her new boyfriend's face. Elizabeth insisted I take some picture of she and Henry too. From Halloween 2008

Boy Wonder

Oscar loves math.  We played twosies again tonight.  Gotta love the PJs.  The kids all have them now, but Beth wouldn't let me get them.

Unfortunately, the boys are following in my footsteps as math geeks. They are both doing very well. Michael likes it when I teach him algebra. Oscar has been invited to participate in a math enrichment program. Michael introduced a new game to all of us tonight that we had a lot of fun with...sad, I know. It's called twosies. It's hard to explain, but it's an addition game. At one point Oscar & Michael were on a team. Oscar was doing all of the math faster than Michael and Michael gave me the cutest, I'm proud of my brother grin. I showed Michael how to turn the game into multiplication to challenge him a bit more. Henry even put up with us for a bit.

Family Day @ the Pumpkin Patch

We went to our church today to pick out some pumpkins. The kids loved it. They were running all over the place through the little trails they put between the groups of pumpkins. This is a fund raiser that our church does every year to raise money for youth programs. Not sure when the carving begins, but the kids can't wait. Album

Another soccer Saturday

A couple weeks left to go in the season.  Oscar & Elizabeth are both doing very well.  Oscar has decided to give baseball a shot in the spring, so this will be my last season of coaching (for now).  He's been playing with the same boys for 2 1/2 years, so it's kinda sad that it's ending.  It'll be a nice break for me though. A typical evening

This is a pretty typical night when the kids aren't fighting because they are tired.

My Best Friend's Wedding

My best friend got married this past weekend. I have known her since college and she's one of those friends that you can not talk to for a long time, but then when you do talk it's like you pick up right where you left off.  She has a really bad potty mouth, so seeing her in a wedding dress looking so beautiful made me really happy. Come to think of it, this might be the first time I ever saw her wear makeup. Beth and Henry came as well.  The ceremony was on Friday and I was able to go (I wasn't officially invited, but I went anyway). Friday night Liz had everyone over for a pig roast at their house.  Saturday Beth and I took Henry for a long walk (much longer than we had planned) along the Cliff Walk and then past all of the mansions. Newport is a great city and I can't wait to visit again. Pictures

If you hit a home run...

The deal was if Michael hit a home run, he'd get an ice cream.  Oscar & Elizabeth were not too unhappy about it...Henry settled for eating his blanket.  Everyone is so proud of him.

Explore. Dream. Discover.

A colleague at The Coca-Cola Company sent this to me today. I thought I should share. "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain Think about all of the things you wish you had done, all the choices you wish you had made. Make choices based on where you want to be, not where you are. Explore. Dream. Discover.
