Dave’s and four of his kids came for a visit this weekend.  One of the highlights of the trip had to be the slip ‘n ‘slide, especially when Dave went down.  Link to album

Summer baseball has ended

After a whirlwind three months, all-stars is over.  The schedule was full, busy, hectic, etc., but we had a great time watching Michael improve.  He worked his butt off to improve, putting in typically at least 4 extra hours of work outside of practice each week.  His dedication is inspiring.  In fact, I often had to tell him it was time to stop or he’d have stayed all night. He played fantastic defense in the outfield, making tons of diving catches, so much so that everyone began to expect him to catch EVERYTHING.  And if you know Michael, you know how mad he gets at himself if he isn’t perfect. I believe he finished with an OBP of around .570, but I haven’t seen the final stats.  I’m not too worry about his batting average; it’s all about getting on base and scoring runs, both of which he did well this summer. His team didn’t fare too well this season, but in the end it’s all about the love of the game, which continues to grow each day in Michael.  Here are a few pictures for
