Another beautiful day, another day at the park

Fun at the park while Mom’s away

Michael’s hard work paid off! The strength & conditioning champ!

Last night was the final indoor pre-season workout for Michael’s baseball team and they had a contest to see who could do the best in four strength and conditioning exercises.  Michael has been religious about following the workout program he was given early in the winter and it all came to fruition last night. All of the boys were giving it all they had; it was so impressive to see them all give so much and work so hard.  I told Michael how proud I was of him for working so hard and for showing such good character towards his teammates and he said “I prayed to God to help me win.”  But what made me even happier is that he said “I pray to God every night.  I pray for our family, my friends, poor children and anything else that’s on my mind.”  Wow…I was blown away. I only wish I had worked so hard when I was his age.  But most importantly, he LOVES it!

Oscar shoots and he finally scores!

It took one season and three games, but Oscar finally did it…he scored in a basketball game!  And it was so worth the wait.  The pure joy on his face is something I’ll never forget.  Luckily the whole family was able to make it and witness his accomplishment. Way to go OD!
